Briefing

The briefing in any mission is vital. Only you know what you have to do in a mission, not having one will mean nobody else will know what to do. A briefing is split into different sections, and is done by creating a file called "briefing.html" in your mission directory.

Navigate to the mission folder:
<flashpoint>\Users\<user>\[MP]missions\<mission name>\

Create an empty file claled "briefing.html" and start typing.

Typing what? Yes, well. Below I have an example of a briefing. You can copy and paste this into your briefing.html file and change what you need to.

<html>
<head>
<title>My Mission Name</title>
</head>
<body>

<!--
###########################################################################
Briefing Notes (second pain in map briefing) should give the background
to the mission, and non-mission specific information.
###########################################################################
-->

<h2><a name="Main"></a></h2>
<h3>Date of mission</h3>

<!-- Start notes -->
<h6>

Soviet forces attacked the main town yesterday, we lost lots of men.<br><br>

New paragraph.

<h4>

<!--
###########################################################################
The main briefing should be to the point of what you have to do in the
mission. Leaving room for objectives underneath.
###########################################################################
-->

<p><a name="Plan"></a>
Attack <a href="marker:mymarker">town</a> and capture.<br><br>

<!--
Using a <a href="marker:mymarker">text</a> will create a link in the briefing.
When this is clicked the map will focus on the marker. You will have to place
this in the mission editor with the F6 key, and make sure you name the marker
correctly (e.g. mymarker).
-->

<!--
###########################################################################
The objectives are key to make the mission look professioal see the
section on objectives for details on how to manipulate these in game.
###########################################################################
-->

<b><i> Objectives </i></b>

<p><a name="OBJ_1"></a>Attack <a href="marker:mytarget1">this</a>.</p><hr>
<p><a name="OBJ_2"></a>Secure <a href="marker:mytarget2">that</a>.</p><hr>
<p><a name="OBJ_3"></a>Defend <a href="marker:mytarget3">over there</a>.</p><hr>

<!--

These will be displayed depending on what mission end is called. This
handy for displaying different text depending on out-come of mission.
